The Problem – Is this you?

You’ve got a list of little jobs as long as your arm, and no time (or energy) to tackle them. The garden’s looking more “wildlife reserve” than tidy lawn. That leaky tap keeps drip-drip-dripping, the fence panel from the last storm is still propped against the shed, and the spare room lightbulb blew weeks ago. By the time the weekend rolls around, you’d rather put your feet up with a cuppa than spend your Saturday up a ladder or wrestling with a flat-pack wardrobe.

Sound familiar?

Many people can relate – DIY tasks and garden chores have a habit of piling up. Maybe you started a project but it turned into a “bit of a bodge job” that needs fixing properly. Or perhaps the thought of loading the car with rubbish for a tip run fills you with dread (and you’d prefer not to get mud and dust all over your boot!).

It’s frustrating when your home isn’t quite how you want it, yet finding a trustworthy person to “get it sorted” feels like searching for a needle in a haystack.

The Solution...

Your Local Helping Hands

This is where The Wylye Valley Handyman comes in.

We’re a husband-and-wife (Tom & Sarah) team based in Codford – essentially your friendly local Jack and Jill-of-all-trades. Our mission is simple: take the hassle off your plate and do the jobs you can’t, won’t, or shouldn’t have to do yourself. From fixing a dripping tap to taming an overgrown garden, assembling furniture, or clearing out years’ worth of clutter, we’ve got you covered.

Why trust us? For starters, we’re DBS-checked and fully insured, so you know you’re in safe hands.

We’re also licensed waste carriers (registered with the Environment Agency), which means we can take away your unwanted rubbish or garden waste and dispose of it responsibly – no mess, no fuss, and no illegal fly-tipping worries. When we say we’ll take care of something, we really do everything needed, including the tidy-up afterwards. We’ll treat your home with respect: working carefully, cleaning up any mess, and leaving things better than we found them.

Because we’re a small family business, you get a personal touch. It’s usually just the two of us turning up with toolbox and garden kit in hand, ready to roll up our sleeves. We pride ourselves on being friendly, punctual, and professional – the kind of service you’d happily recommend to a neighbour.

And speaking of neighbours, we know the area well and serve all the villages and towns within roughly 15 miles of Codford. Although if you are a bit further out, please get in touch, we can usually accommodate.

In short, we love tackling the jobs you either can’t stand or can’t find time for. You’ll get quality workmanship (no half-hearted bodges), honest advice, and a fair price. We’re here to help you maintain a home and garden you’re proud of, without the stress

.

Why Choose The Wylye Valley Handyman?

When you ask someone into your home, you want the job handled properly, quickly, and by people you can trust. That’s exactly how we work at The Wylye Valley Handyman.

Being a husband-and-wife team means you know exactly who will be turning up at your door – no strangers, just your reliable neighbours. We show up when we say we will, do what we promise, and we’re fully DBS-checked and insured for your peace of mind.

  • One-Stop Solution (Handyman + Gardening + Waste Removal): No need to juggle multiple tradespeople. Whether it’s fixing, building, or digging, we can tackle most tasks around your home and garden. We’ll even take away the rubbish when we’re done. From a quick repair to a full garden tidy-up, you get a comprehensive service — all in one visit if possible. Less hassle, less mess left behind, and a home that’s left clean and tidy.

What areas do you cover?

We’re based in Codford and generally cover all villages and towns within about a 15-mile radius. That includes much of the Wylye Valley and surrounding areas (places like Warminster, Heytesbury, Shrewton, even the outskirts of Salisbury). If you’re not sure whether you’re in our range, just ask.

What kind of jobs can you do?

Pretty much any of those “odd jobs” or maintenance tasks around the home and garden. Common requests include fixing leaky taps, unblocking gutters, repairing fences, painting touch-ups, putting up shelves or curtain rails, assembling flat-pack furniture, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding flowerbeds, and clearing out sheds or garages. We also handle waste removal – so if you have old furniture, appliances or bags of garden waste to dispose of, we can sort that too. No job is too small – if it’s something you need help with, just give us a call and we’ll let you know if we can do it (chances are, we can!).

Are you insured and DBS-checked?

Yes, absolutely. We know inviting someone into your home requires trust. Rest assured, we have full public liability insurance, so you’re covered in the unlikely event of any accidents or damage. We are also DBS-checked, meaning we’ve passed background checks (we’re happy to show you our DBS certification if you’d like). In short, you can trust us to be professional, honest and respectful. We take pride in our work and in treating our customers the way we’d want to be treated – like good neighbours.

Will you really take away all the rubbish?

Definitely. We’re licensed waste carriers, so we can remove and carry away household or green waste that comes from the jobs we do. Whether it’s an old sink we’ve replaced for you, a pile of hedge trimmings, or general clutter you’ve asked us to clear out, we’ll load it up and dispose of it properly at a registered facility all within the quote we give you. You won’t have to worry about trips to the tip or overflowing wheelie bins – we leave your place tidy. (If it’s a huge amount of waste or something hazardous, we’ll discuss the plan and any minimal disposal fees upfront – no surprises.)

How do I get a quote and what will it cost?

Just contact us by phone or through the website, and let us know what you need doing. We’ll arrange a convenient time to have a look or sometimes we can quote based on a description and photos. Quotes are free and no-obligation. Our pricing is fair and transparent – for many small jobs we can give a fixed price, or an hourly rate if that makes more sense. We’ll explain everything in advance, so you can decide with confidence. No hard sells, no hidden charges. Just an honest price for honest work.

How soon can you fit me in?

For most small jobs in Codford, Warminster or the nearby villages, we can usually pop round within 2-4 days. Larger projects—like a full garden tidy-up or shed build—may need a little longer, but we’ll always give you the first available slot and keep you updated.

Do I need to supply any materials?

Not unless you want to. We’re happy to source everything—from fence posts to tap washers—from trusted local merchants in Warminster or Salisbury and add them to your final bill. If you’ve already bought the bits, that’s fine too—just let us know.

Are you insured and DBS-checked?

Absolutely. We carry full public-liability insurance and both of us hold DBS certificates. Homeowners across Wiltshire trust us in their homes and gardens because we’re professional, transparent and proud of our reputation.

What if I’m not happy with the work?

We stand by our workmanship. If something isn’t right within 14 days, we’ll come back and put it right—no quibbles, no call-out fee. Your peace of mind is part of the service.

How do I pay?

Easy: bank transfer, card or cash—whatever suits. For larger builds like bespoke picnic tables or sheds, we may take a small deposit to cover materials, then the balance once you’re delighted with the job.
